Westmoreland Terrace
Westmoreland is an apartment refurbishment project in Westminster’s Pimlico Conservation area, notable for its mid-19th century townscape layout by Thomas Cubitt.
The brief was to turn a 36sqm one-bedroom flat into a flexible two-bedroom home and office for its owners, who wanted to be able to live, work and host in a small space.
Layout changes included reclaiming a small area of the living room for a shower. This allowed for the relocation of the kitchen and bathroom, freeing up space for a second, naturally lit bedroom at the rear.
Centred on a modular concept, the material palette utilises integrated joinery to disguise layout shifts, while obscured glass blocks borrow daylight for the internal bathroom from the bright living room at the front.
